Effect of Aging on the Fluorescence Lifetime of Chloroplasts
نویسنده
چکیده
Photosynthesis, Fluorescence Lifetimes, Aging, Sonicated Chloroplasts The lifetime of fluorescence from pea chloroplasts at room temperature increases with age. The ratio of the fluorescence intensities of the slow to fast decay components, decreases with age of the chloroplasts. This observation can account for the wide range of lifetimes reported in the literature. The variability of biological material (cultured and prepared with similar procedures) introduces considerable variation in the fluorescence lifetimes measured with pea chloroplasts. Sonication of chloroplasts results in an increase in both the fast and slow fluorescence lifetimes.

In this study, the aging and deterioration mechanisms in the plastic bonded explosives (PBXs) and their components as well as standard methods for their evaluating are presented. Also, the techniques developed for the prediction of chemical lifetime and service life of PBXs will be reviewed and analyzed. These methods cite the lifetime prediction methods based on weight/energy loss by thermal a...
متن کاملThe fluorescence decay kinetics of in vivo chlorophyll measured using low intensity excitation.
We report fluorescence lifetimes for in vivo chlorophyll a using a time-correlated single-photon counting technique with tunable dye laser excitation. The fluorescence decay of dark-adapted chlorella is almost exponential with a lifetime of 490 ps, which is independent of excitation from 570 nm to 640 nm. Chloroplasts show a two-component decay of 410 ps and approximately 1.4 ns, the proportion...
متن کاملUSE OF ORGANIC SOLVENTS FOR THE ENHANCEMENT AND LIFETIME INCREASING OF LUMINESCENCE IN FLUORIMETRIC APPLICATION BY FLUORESCAMINE
In this study, the fluorogenic efficiency of fluorescamine for spectrofluorimetric analysis of primary amines was investigated. Different mixtures of dichloromethane and other organic solvents were used for evaluation of fluorescence stability and intensity of fluorescamine derivative (Pyrrolinone). Solvents such as acetonitrile (ACN), tetrahydrofuran (THF) and dioxane increase stability an...
متن کاملInvestigation of Stem Cell Aging Throughout the Lifetime and Therapeutic Opportunities
Introduction: Aging is a natural phenomenon that is caused by changes in the cells of the body. Theoretically, aging starts from birth and lasts throughout life. These changes affect the function of the cells. Also, in old tissues, the capacity for homeostasis and tissue repair is decline due to destructive changes in specific tissue stem cells, niche of stem cells and systemic factors that reg...

Transformer is one of the most important components of power system, which determining its reliability is very important. To evaluate transformer overall reliability, in addition to probability of failures occur due to chance events, the probability of failures owing to aging should be taken into account. To determine transformer reliability in aging area, estimating its remaining life is of gr...
